Dear God!

It seems that prayer is my favorite topic right now.  I guess it’s because I am daily realizing afresh that nothing changes issues like prayer.

I’m sure ive lost a few people right about there.  Here goes! I Know!I’ve tried it!, nothing ever works I can hear you say.  But hold on, or read on to at least hear what I have to say.

The bible says the confess your faults one to another and pray, one for another, that ye may be healed.  the effectual fervert prayer of a righteous man availeth much James 5:16 It goes on ahead and speaks of Elias who was a man like us who prayed earnestly and it did not rain, and he prayed again earnestly and it rained.

Wow!  I wish I could say the same for myself.  But I must add that I am trying to pray earnestly.  How?

1. By keeping my life pure.  Isaiah 59:1  Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Sin will cause God not to hear you and your prayer will be ineffective

2.By studying the word of God.  Psalm1:1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the  ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  but his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  …..and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4. By praying the word of God by revelation knowledge

Many situations in  life require divine revelation  to know what is going on and how to pray about it. This knowledge comes by revelation as you engage actively in spiritual warfare.  Previously I would pray as my mind would inteprete the situation, and the solutions that I thought were acceptable to me.     Alas! when the results came they would not be what I expected.

By the grace of God, I have learnt to seek for root causes of issues and address the root causes.  Untill the root cause is  addressed and dealt with, the problem will continue to present itself again and again.

May God  give you a spirit of wisdom and understanding,  the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of God ( Isaiah 11:2)  to pray effectively

prayer point:  Oh Lord give me a spirit of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, spirit of might,  the spirit of knowledge, and the spirit of the fear of God in the name of Jesus.
